WHAT ARE VITAMINS AND TYPES OF VITAMINS?
Vitamins are the simplest organic substances found in natural food sources that help cell regeneration and energy production, that the body needs in certain quantities, that need to be supplemented externally when this amount is not available, and that act as regulators in different reactions in the body. Most vitamins are taken from food because the human body either does not produce enough vitamins or does not produce them at all. Natural foods are the best sources of vitamins. However, sometimes vitamin supplements may be recommended by doctors depending on the deficiency.
VITAMIN TYPES
There are 13 vitamins known to everyone. Vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin B7, vitamin B9, vitamin B12, vitamin K, vitamin E.
Vitamins are divided into water-soluble and fat-soluble according to their structure.
Fat-soluble vitamins;
Fat-soluble vitamins include vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K. These vitamins are fat-soluble and can be stored in the body. These vitamins are involved in the metabolic activities of different body structures such as the skin, eyesight, immune system, bone and muscle systems.
Water-soluble vitamins;
Water-soluble vitamins include the vitamin B complex B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B6, B7, B12, folate and vitamin C. These vitamins need to dissolve in water to be absorbed and stored by the body. Excess water-soluble vitamins that the body does not use are excreted through the kidneys. These nutrients are absorbed directly into the bloodstream. In this way, they are involved in energy formation. They also contribute to the reduction of fatigue and exhaustion, the immune system, protein and glycogen metabolism and cell formation.
